DHFF 2019: Bootsy and Buckethead Serve Up Some “Monster Mash”

Every day through October, the Department of Tangents brings you the Daily Horror Film Fest – one short horror film for every day of the month. It might be terrifying, it might be funny. It could be an homage classic monsters or something entirely new. Check back every morning for a new scare as we celebrate horror shorts!

I had planned to bring you a different short today until this arrived in my inbox. And since it’s the Saturday before Halloween, you need this for your party mixes. This is the legendary Parliament Funkadelic bass god Bootsy Collins with enigmatic guitar wiz Buckethead taking on Bobby Pickett’s 1962 Halloween classic “Monster Mash,” with a few talented friends.

There’s a bit of promotion for Bootsy’s label, Bootzilla Records, here, as some of those friends are on the label. But it’s also a cool bit of heavy grooving and people being silly to help you get in the spirit.
