Daily Horror Film Fest: Leave Us Alone

Every day in October, the Department of Tangents Blog & Podcast is featuring a different short horror film as part of the Daily Horror Film Fest. Today’s entry, Leave Us Alone, written and directed by Nicholas Treeshin, is another one I found through Screamfest, and another with a sci-fi bent.

When a single mother moves back to the family farm, she inherits a terrifying tradition she can’t escape. Her kid is acting strange. Police are investigating an incident on her property. And the world may also hang in the balance. Hard to say much more without spoilers. The film sets up a larger world we never get to see, which makes me wonder if Leave Us Alone might be a test run for a feature film, the same way Lights Out was.

You may also recognize Leah Gibson from supporting roles on Hulu’s Shut Eye, The Returned, and Rogue, and Philip Granger, who plays the sheriff, from SyFy’s Ghost Wars, The Killing, and Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil.
