David Cross Donating Proceeds from New Special to Ukraine Charity This Weekend

David Cross’s new special, I’m From the Future, has been on my watch list since it came out last month, and now I’m happy to say I’ll be catching up with it this weekend. Cross announced this week that he will donate one hundred percent of the proceed from rentals from Friday, March 11 at 8:00 PM ET to Sunday, March 13 at 8:00 PM ET to a charity called Razom for Ukraine.

Per their website, as a long-term mission, Razom for Ukraine “initiates short and long-term projects, or collaborates on existing projects with partner organizations, which help Ukraine stay on the path of fostering democracy and prosperity.” Right now, they are seeking to provide medical supplies to Ukraine in the face of the Russian invasion, and to spread information about the cause. You can read more about those efforts on the blog on their site.

The special, which was recorded in Brooklyn in November 2021, is available to rent on Cross’s website for $10, which gives you a seven-day window to watch. You can use a credit card or PayPal.

If you want to make a weekend of it, some of Cross’s other specials are available on a few different platforms. Oh, Come On, The Pride Is Back, and Bigger & Blackerer are all on Amazon. Making America Great Again (2016) is on Netflix. Looks like his 2003 documentary about his Shut Up, You Fucking Baby tour, Let America Laugh, isn’t streaming (if you find it is, let me know and I’ll edit the link), but you can buy the DVD (little silver things old people use for their entertainment devices) on the Sub Pop website.
