In last Friday’s New Release Roundup, I reviewed the new George Carlin Album, I Kinda Like It When A Lotta People Die<\/em><\/a>, archived tape of the special Carlin had planned to do in November of 2001, recorded before the 9\/11 terrorist attacks. He wound up changing a lot of material that would likely have come across as inflammatory. That’s not something he minded, of course, and he did address 9\/11 in the special, which wound up being called Complaints and Grievances<\/em>. <\/p>\n

I interviewed Carlin the following October for the Boston Globe, covering a wide range of topics. The most interesting comedians to him were outlaws in some way, a label he also applied to himself. We talked about that, some comedy history, and the Broadway show he never got to produce. <\/p>\n
