When I sat down with Brendan in his living room in April, he was about to release a new album called <a href=\"https:\/\/brokengates.bandcamp.com\/releases\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Last Words<\/em> with Brendan Boogie and the Broken Gates<\/a>, and launch a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/1573809276\/sundown-an-independent-film\" target=\"_blank\">Kickstarter project for his latest film, <em>Sundown<\/em><\/a>. <em>Sundown<\/em> will be Brendan&#8217;s directorial debut after he wrote and starred in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheMayorOfRockAndRoll\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Mayor of Rock and Roll<\/em><\/a>, a film I hope gets a wider distribution somewhere. It&#8217;s a charming comedy about a rock musician who&#8217;s been in the scene a while and never gotten a shot at fame, and it stars a lot of great bands and musicians, too.
