Every day during October, the Department of Tangents presents a different short film for the Daily Horror Film Fest. It can be flat-out scary, strange, or you might recognize something that has scared you, personally, at some point. Such is the case with today\u2019s selection, Sleep Tight<\/em>, written and directed by Ben Bashor<\/a>. <\/p>\n

I think every kid can probably relate to this boy\u2019s experience. Everything\u2019s fine, your day has been good, your family loves you. But then you go to bed and the lights go out. And the second that happens, the mood changes. Every toy in room looks different, like it\u2019s staring at you, waiting for you to do something. Every wavering light outside your window is something moving toward you. Maybe you could have done something a few minutes ago, when you first noticed it, but now it\u2019s too late. You\u2019re sure it\u2019s here<\/em>. Any sudden noise or movement and it\u2019ll pounce. It\u2019s daring you, but you can\u2019t move. You\u2019re frozen. <\/p>\n

Daylight comes, and everything\u2019s fine again. But tonight\u2026 tonight you\u2019re going to have to crawl into bed and think about it all over again. <\/p>\n
