Throughout the month, I\u2019ll be featuring new horror every weekday. Sometimes that will be indie films, sometimes it\u2019ll be big-name stuff, shorts, or even TV shows. Scary, funny, schlocky, quiet, eerie \u2013 something for the well-rounded horror fan. Plus interviews with filmmakers and a chance to support projects still in the works. Today\u2019s feature is <a href=\"http:\/\/bloodycuts.co.uk\/bc-films\/ep04-mother-died\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Mother Died<\/em><\/a>, from director\/writer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gortonstudio.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Neill Gorton<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><em>Mother Died<\/em> is presented by <a href=\"http:\/\/bloodycuts.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bloody Cuts<\/a>, a U.K. Web site that presents an ongoing anthology of short horror films. This one impressed me for its quiet, calm storytelling style, and a reveal I didn\u2019t guess until the very last second. There is a wonderful sense of the horrific underlying the voiceover, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sarahelizwinter\" target=\"_blank\">Sarah Winter<\/a> deserves a lot of credit for both that and her wordless performance, on which the whole enterprises hinges. <\/p>\n<p>There are more films in the works on Bloody Cuts, and a lot to explore already on the site.
