Chandler Travis has released music in an impressive range of styles with his different ensembles, including the Chandler Travis Philharmonic, The Catbirds, and the Chandler Travis Three-O. He’s likely got more music in his vault than most musicians will produce in a lifetime. You can explore all of these different phases and incarnations on The Chandler Travis Philharmonic Bandcamp page, and pick up a few things to help support the music. Also, avail yourself of your next opportunity to see the Philharmonic live. They are a joy to see and hear.
This week, Travis dipped into his archives to release “Let’s Get Better” by The Incredible Casuals, a band he helped found in 1980. As noted on the page, this song was originally released on a Boston ska compilation called Mash It Up ’93. It’s a sprightly rocking ska tune with the uplifting refrain, “Let’s get better/We can do it for ourselves.” As Travis calls it, “just a bit of all-purpose encouragement.”
