Welcome to the DoT Daily Horror Film Fest! Throughout the month, I’ll be featuring new horror every weekday. Sometimes that will be indie films, sometimes it’ll be big-name stuff, shorts, or even TV shows. Scary, funny, schlocky, quiet, eerie – something for the well-rounded horror fan. Plus interviews with filmmakers and a chance to support projects still in the works. Today’s feature is Lights Out from David F. Sandberg, who goes by “ponysmasher” on YouTube.
Lights Out is very short, clocking in at just under three minutes. It doesn’t wear out the concept like some short films might, trying to hash it out over ten minutes or more. It gets its jump scares, gets to the reveal, and it’s done, which is why it remains effective. Enjoy! And keep the lights on.
